Regarding
the importance of the internationalization of major universities in the country
in national policies and planning, and with the aim of enhancing the capacities
of members in areas related to educational, research, and cultural interactions
with foreign universities, in June/July 2019, based on the proposal of Ferdowsi
University of Mashhad's International Scientific Cooperation Center, an
alliance was established between the universities of Tehran, Ferdowsi Mashhad,
Tabriz, Isfahan, and Shiraz under the name of the "Taftash Union,"
with its secretariat being hosted by Ferdowsi University of Mashhad for a
period of two years. One of the common programs of the Taftash group is the
presence in regional countries to introduce the scientific, educational,
research, and technological capacities of Taftash universities.
