Prof. Valiollah Mirkhani, a full professor in the field of Chemistry at the University of Isfahan, has been selected as “Distinguished Professor” for the excellence in his academic work by the Ministry of Science, Research, and Technology (MSRT). Prof. Mirkhani is one of the sixteen distinguished professors selected from different universities by MSRT for the year 2020.
The awarding ceremony for the distinguished professors of the year has been postponed in the view of the Corona outbreak. However, Prof. Gholami, Iranian Minister of Science, Research, and Technology made telephone calls to all the distinguished professors of the year to congratulate them and to appreciate their success. Each year, upon the application call, many professors from all Iranian universities nominate themselves as candidates for “Distinguished Professor”. However, after meticulous analysis of the academic performance of the candidates against very high standards by several scientific committees, only a few of them are selected.
It is to be noted that Prof. Mirkhani has previously been awarded as:
1. The ISI scientist in the field of Chemistry in 2010.
