Funding opportunities

Postdoctoral fellows are individuals who have completed a doctoral degree and who are seeking further training in a particular area of research. As valued members of the University of Isfahan’s community, postdoctoral fellows make an indispensable contribution to the research environment of the university and their chosen field. In doing so, they raise the profile of themselves and University of Isfahan. They work under the general supervision of a faculty member and may assist graduate students.

 

Why University of Isfahan (UI)?

Recognized as a top comprehensive university in Iran and located in the city of Isfahan, UI is committed to advancing Indigenous research and achievement, recognizing the significant contributions of Indigenous peoples in Iran. Providing high-quality social science, basic science, end engineering, and professional programs of study, UI inspires our undergraduate and graduate students, as well as postdoctoral fellows, to positively impact their communities as regionally/globally-engaged citizens.
Within the synergy of the postdoctoral fellowship program, we open the possibility to (academic) partners to apply. This program allows two researchers with different disciplinary backgrounds to work on a single project, each contributing their own topical or methodological expertise while having the opportunity to sharpen their research profiles. Each researcher will be awarded an individual postdoctoral fellowship. UI provides them with a professional infrastructure and an appropriate workplace for conducting research.
In addition to the supervision by a faculty member, the university department of research affairs monitors and supports each fellow in her/his career development. Fellows have a research agreement with the University of Isfahan. They participate actively in the regular weekly meetings of the university and may have an opportunity to teach.

 Primary criteria
Primary criteria are the quality of the applicant's research and interest/experience in the mentioned fields. The position provides an outstanding opportunity for independent research as well as the opportunities for collaboration with faculty members and graduate students. Postdoctoral researchers are expected to participate actively in the research activities of the university.

 

Qualifications
1. Ph.D. degree in a relevant field, preferably within the last 2 years;
2. Good communication, presentation, and writing skills; and
3. Ability to work well both independently and with a team.
Note1: Highly qualified candidates are provided with free accommodation and a research fund.

1. a cover letter;
2. statement of research;
3. a complete CV, including their published and accepted research articles;
4. a copy of Ph.D. degree; and
5. first page of the applicant’s passport and scanned personal photo.

Note2: The applicant is responsible for obtaining a research visa.
