According to the latest 2025 Shanghai Global Ranking of Academic Subjects (ShanghaiRanking), the Faculty of Sport Sciences at the University of Isfahan has achieved the second national rank in Iran among universities active in the field of sport sciences.

This notable achievement once again highlights the University of Isfahan’s strong academic and research presence at the international level. According to the published results, the University of Isfahan ranked second nationally, placing within the 151–200 global range. The University of Tehran also appeared in the same global range, securing third place nationally.

The ShanghaiRanking system, launched in 2016, evaluates the performance of more than 300 universities worldwide with academic units in sport sciences. The assessment is based on key scientific indicators, including the number of published papers, citation impact, quality of journals (publications in the top 25% of journals globally), and the level of international research collaboration.

The ranking data are extracted from the Web of Science database over a five-year period. The University of Isfahan’s second-place national ranking reflects the university’s sustained growth in research productivity and scientific impact in the field of sport sciences.

This achievement is expected to contribute to the expansion of international academic collaborations and further enhance Iran’s position in the global landscape of sport sciences.
