Construction and building material laboratory

 

The construction material laboratory was established in 2007 at civil engineering department. This lab is a joint partner of the university of Isfahan central laboratory. Most of tests on the construction materials such as concrete, brick, cement, gypsum, mortar, aggregate and other common materials can be done in this lab. Additional tests which may be required are done by the central lab including, XRD (X Ray Diffraction), XRF (X Ray Fluorescence Spectroscopy), NMR (Nuclear Magnetic Resonance spectroscopy) and other required tests.

Following is the list of some tests which can be done in the lab.

Bricks relevant tests such as:

• Physical properties
• Compressive strength
• Flexural strength
• Freezing and thawing

 

Gypsum relevant tests such as:

• Physical and mechanical properties
• Fineness
• Compressive strength
• Flexural strength

 

Concrete and cement mortar relevant tests including

 

• Compressive strength
• Tensile strength
• Flexural strength
• Abrasive strength
• Physical properties of sand aggregate
• Workability tests (different types of concrete)
• Cement relevant tests
